About me
KATE
Hi! My name is Kate Fike, and I’m so grateful to be part of this women’s ministry team. I live in beautiful Holmes County with my sweet daughter Adelaide, who is nine years old. We’ve lived here for four years now, and it truly feels like home, especially since I grew upon a farm. Every sunset is a one-of-a-kind masterpiece from our Creator. I like to think of it as a God ‘wink’, His way of pouring out love and blessing us with something breathtakingly beautiful (Also, Adelaide insisted I tell you that we have a pet jumping spider named Dusty. She’s actually comical to watch and no, I still don’t understand how I agreed to this.) I'm a speech therapist, which means I get to help kids learn how to communicate, whether it's saying their sounds correctly, putting their words together, or just having the confidence to speak up. I consider it a huge blessing to walk alongside students as they grow. There’s nothing quite like the moment a child realizes, “I can do this!”
Two Bible verses that have been really close to my heart in this season are: Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future." Zephaniah 3:17 (this is actually my birth verse!) "The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing." God has been showing me how deeply relevant both of these verses are in my life right now.
He’s drawing me closer to Himself, growing my faith, and answering a prayer I’ve had for a long time—that He would give me more of Him. I’m actively involved in my women’s Bible study group, and the Holy Spirit has really used that time to deepen my relationship with Jesus. At church, I love serving in the nursery (there’s nothing like a good toddler dance party to keep you humble) and learning together with our church family. My heart’s desire is that every person would come to know and experience the love of Jesus: the real, healing, life-changing kind. And if you ever need someone to feed a spider, host a toddler dance party, or help a kid find their voice, I’m your girl. Just maybe not all at once! With love, Kate
